Lisa began the History Reading Challenge at the beginning of 2013, setting a personal goal of “reading around the world” in 24 books. Lisa feels strongly that American public education too commonly fails to give enough attention to world history, a belief that sparked her personal efforts to learn more about the world.

Having completed the 2013 challenge, Lisa looks to 2016 as a chance to bring worthy nonfiction to the attention of any reader who might casually surf through her archives or pick up a recent post.

Lisa is a freelance copywriter and blogger whose other work has also appeared at http://www.understandmymind.com. Her travels within and outside the U.S. inspire further reading about the landmarks, people and cultures she encounters.
